The impact of logistic performance on intra-ASEAN trade

ASEAN has gone a long way in deepening its regional economic cooperation, particularly trade liberalization. However, comparatively less intraregional than the European Union, whose integration model they aspire to emulate. As reducing tariffs was no longer an efficient increase trade, this study analyzes logistics performance as another factor that may affect trade. Using gravity with bilateral data from 10 member states 2007 2018 gaps, results show majority of improvements performance, by both private sector and government alike, have positive significant impacts on export value. This finding implies collaboration between agencies improve each state is imperative foster intra-regional further.
